So What Is Really All Going On

Exams are rearing their ugly head and so studying has been increased. Sadly, this leaves hobby almost right out of the equation. So, to make sure I get something done, I have decided to set myself a goal of blogging at least once a week, probably on a Sunday, as that is usually my day off. I might end up posting more over the holidays, but, I am moving house during April so, we will see.

Last post I left off with a big bag of moss, well, today, I decided to do something with that moss, as well as some other stuff that I was able to scrounge from the local Chinese store.

Yes, it's these things, whatever you call them. I think they might be for a fish tank, but hell, the whole lot cost me roughly five pounds, so...

Next stage of the project was to find some of these laser cut 60mm round bases.

And paint them brown, using the basic, yet most interesting acrylic raw sienna.

Also, a small pile of Gods gift to humanity, cat litter.

Some old sawdust flock and voila!

First stage is complete!

Next up comes the bushes -- they look a tad tropical...

These were an absolute nightmare to glue on, and, as in most glue related cases, violence is not an alternative. Super glue = Fail. Wood glue = Fail. Bostik = worked well enough.

And a little bit of moss.

Which promptly turned into a bigger clump of moss.

And here we have some difficult terrain, ready for the oncoming table.

It was a most, if not enjoyable, then productive experience.

 Anyway...

Looking forward, my birthday is just around the corner, and with it comes a whole wad of stuff from warlord games, mainly Zulus, mardhists, TYW stuff, and some greeks and macs.

Which shall be fun. Also, once I am in my new house I plan to make a scenery board, at last. Lots of fish tank grass and moss shall be used.

And lastly, regarding the pictures above, at first I thought that the some of the greens would seem too luminous, but I think they turned out alright. Not sure though.

Moss?

No, this is not weed.

And yes, this is moss.

A whole frickin' load of moss.

So, I spent the whole morning seeking out something to do with terrain. I ended up in the mountains and in florist shops. And looked what I found.

It is a huge nice brick of moss to use on bases, and to use on a gaming table. Should be fun.

Also I have ordered a substantial amount of stuff from Warlord games. Just stuff.

Anyway, sorry for my long silences --  I hope to get back into painting soon.

Dabbling's in Necromancy

Finally! A semi productive weekend! I have actually painted something. Or some things to be exact.

First off we have another D6 undead. And oh how I have plans for them, mwahaha!.

Anyway, these fleshy, gooey chaps were incredibly simple to paint. I just found six zombies that I had undercoated around a year ago, drybrushed flesh on and then just washed away as is my want to do.

And next up we have this ugly piece of work. Don't really like the miniature. But it is perfect for my purposes, which are, of course, ugly peasant.

And last off, my pride and joy! I found him in my lead pile. Anyway, another Swede shoved roughly into the grim world of fantasy. I hope he makes it...

So thus was the Goldenroy warband completed! Mostly.

And more! There is more! And unexpected present!

And what an excellent present it was! Up until now, I didn't even know this book existed! The English is old fashioned, just the way I like it, and the story is slightly convoluted, which keeps me concentrated. I believe it is some sort of forerunner to the Children of Hurin. Anyway, I shall enjoy reading it and adding it to my slowly growing Tolkien Library, hehe.
